I spent the morning running around like a headless chicken, trying to get everything done for Kayden’s party that I’d arranged for later that day.

In no time, the guests were arriving and then the festivities began.  The kids spent the first part of the party slipping and sliding outside, under the glorious sun.  Before they knew it,  it was time to go inside so that candles could be blown out.  Everyone sang heartily to Kayden and he was beaming from ear to ear.  The room was filled with chomping sounds as the kids gobbled all the goodies on their plates.

The rest of the party the kids played outside, whilst the parents chatted away.  Before we knew it, it was time for everyone to leave.

The rest of the day, the kids & spent the day in the park across the road from us and we played with their new toys.

All in all Kayden’s birthday turned out to be a wonderful day and the sun had barely set, when he was passed out on the couch.

A huge thank you to my mom-in-law for all her help and for being here on such a special day (all the way from Namibia).  I would also like to thank everyone who was able to attend Kayden’s party.

Two kid’s birthday’s down for the year and one to go, until next year again!

Just before I left for sea the children had their end of year concerts at their school,  Pinefields.  Kyra and her OWLS class had a sea theme and Kayden, in the BUSY BEES, had a people in uniform theme.

The two classes had their respective concert on two different days with Kyra’s class going first on the 25th.  I was supposed to have been back at work by then so I was very happy to be able to attend this.  If that was not enough, Granny was staying with us at the time as well and also got to attend.  Marvellous!

Ky got dressed up in as a little sailor and had the song “My Bonny lies over the ocean”

Kayden was a fireman and he belted out this rendition of the “Fireman song”

Today was the start of the present haul with Kyra’s 4th birthday party, which we had at her school and it turned out to be a major success. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if her teacher hired a hitman as we left her with 18 kids all on a sugar rush!

Today Lau emailed me something wonderful.  It is Kyra’s very first report card from her new “Big School”

Ah.. they grow so fast!

Pete there are many dads out there who could only aspire to be as wonderful a dad as you are. So great, that you inspire me to be a better mom.

We love you and miss you terribly and can’t wait to give you your own special Fathers Day when you get home.

Every year at Mothers day I try and say something deep and profound to thank my mother for being Mom.

Today is a very special day for the Pete and Lauren Clan.  Today is Lau’s Birthday, please join the singing monkey and I in wishing her a happy Birthday.

I have added some new pics of Kyra.  They can be found in the Gallery under her  folder or just click the pic.  All the little one’s had to bring an easter hat to school today.  We went online as we didn’t have the slightest clue as to what these hats look like.  The general theme was a straw hat with a variety of decorations.  Lau then buys a pretty little straw hat and dolls it up with some ribbons and stuff and off they went to school.

Naturally, all the other kids there had hats with bunny ears on.   Go figure!
