About pete and Lauren

Where do we start with our story? It would probably start with my friend Iain. In April of 2000, we were sitting at the Keg in Pinetown when Iain decided to invite one of his collegues from work to join us for a beer. Little did I know at that stage that I was about to meet my future wife. Lauren walked into the bar and from the first moment that I saw her, I knew that oneday I would marry her. (Sounds fairly cheesy but it was true).

At this stage I was forced to take a back seat, though, as Iain was trying his luck. This resulted in a brief two week courtship which, luckily for me, went nowhere. A few weeks later I plucked up the courage and asked Lauren out. She said yes and with a few home cooked meals and some star gazing we were an item. Pete’s take on Lauren: Lauren, a complex individual disguised as a low maintenance chick, but is in actual fact, high maintenance. She likes Dogs, hates cats & nasty people and has no time whatsoever for people who are incompetent. Lauren works as an Adminstrator for a firm in Durban The Plus side: She has an excellent sense of humour, is full of beans and likes to think that she has excellent dress sense. I on the other hand know better. Pete’s take on Pete: Rugged good looks, A magnificent sense of humour and a "never say die" source of optimism. All in all a jolly good egg! Lauren’s take on Pete: Pete, laid back and incredibly patient. Can become very high maintenance at braai’s (that’s Barbeques for all you foreigners). (Pete says: What Lauren is trying to say is that I am a bit of a pisshead!) (Lauren says: I was trying to be diplomatic)… And for once I must agree with Pete on his take on himself (Pete Says: Especially the Rugged good Looks part). (Lauren just smiles and nods) Lauren’s take on Lauren: First and foremost I DO have a good Dress sense!!!!! That is why Pete does not look like an orphan in public anymore. (Pete says: the fact that I used to dress in the dark may also have something to do with that) (Lauren Says: you keep telling yourself that) I love shopping and enjoy writing poetry.
